The word podcast is a combination of iPOD, the portable music and video player and BroadCAST.

With this technology videos can be downloaded from the internet to a portable video player. You can subscribe to podcasts with the respective software (e.g. iTunes, free download at Apple) - this way new films will be downloaded to your computer automatically.
